E-business strategy development
Any organisation is continuously looking for creative ideas, new approaches and innovation. However, the obvious solutions are not readily available. Identifying and developing new, workable ideas is a challenge for most organisations.
This becomes the more visible when technology-driven evolutions, such as the Internet, are changing the competitive landscape. Rash decisions, thoughtless reactions and wasted initiatives are often the logical consequences.
However, the problem is not the Internet or e-business. The real problem is the unfortunate reality that most organisations are poorly skilled in formulating and developing workable new ideas, especially when this has to be done in a context of uncertainty and incomplete understanding. In the new economy, this type of challenge becomes standard.
Therefore, we do think that it is unrealistic for an organisation to keep on walking the path towards "complete knowledge and understanding". Instead, a more pragmatic approach is needed that allows for any management or project team to give correct direction to the e-business plans of the organisation, without the requirement for any in-depth knowledge of e-business matters.
